The LDEO tensor solution for these two quakes – the 8.2 (this one) and the preceding 8.6 are at serious odds with the tensor solutions from other organisations, most of which are in general agreement. This earthquake is set at 7.9 Mw and the 8.6 Mw is set at 8.0 Mw

I am not sure why these two particular quakes are showing this difference.
